To celebrate the centenary of the name La Rinascente and its enormous graphic and artistic archive, Milan City Council, Palazzo Reale and La Rinascente decided to tell this story in an exhibition on the piano nobile in Palazzo Reale, from 24 May to 24 September 2017. We were asked to work on all the graphic elements and communication tools, an extraordinary experience that began with the Rinascente Archive. This archive contains the most interesting contributions made by the greatest designers on the international scene in the 20th century.

Working closely with OMA/AMO, who conceived and designed the exhibition, each of the 11 rooms was structured differently, with specific details and materials, including graphic, video, photographic and artistic elements.

With TEM, a design studio based in London, we created an immersive way of experiencing the Archive: a generative image environment offering visitors an emotional experience and giving them a feeling for the history of La Rinascente.

The catalogue, published by Skirà, was a collection of voices and images from the protagonists of La Rinascente’s history. We worked on the graphic design and the depiction of the entire exhibition on paper, finding a suitable editorial language and treatment.
